About us
The History Society is one of Swansea University's largest academic societies and we pride ourselves in running a range of events throughout the year, from academic workshops, socials and nights out on the famous Wind Street, trips away and abroad, and not forgetting our Christmas and End of Year Dinner with all our members and even lecturers!

Social Stuff: Dress up socials, End of Year Dinner, Christmas Dinner, Pub Golf, Wind Street events, Trips abroad, day out trips, elections!

To become a member, you do not need to be doing a History degree or module.
This year is a great year to be a member of the History Society, why? There are plenty of reasons! Firstly, we are one of the biggest and most successful academic societies of Swansea University. This can be seen in our awards and nominations we have received from the Swansea University Student Union where students of Swansea University nominate their favorite societies. Secondly, we have an brilliant trip to Berlin run by our sponsor Invasion. This will be £235 (tbc, price subject to change) for 5 nights in one of the most beautiful capital cities of the world!
Thirdly, we have planned amazing events and socials for all members of our societies this year which range from academic workshops to help with your degree and help you progress further. These work shops are put on by the committee with the help of the lecturers in the department of History and Classics. The socials we have planned this year are original and fun, including a range from drinking and non-drinking socials and activities. For example, this year we plan to have our most popular Historical Dress-up social along with new events such as the Beer Olympics. Lastly, you have a dedicated committee who plan these activities and events!

We also have an opening for a 'Fresher's Representative' which we will be having an election for in the second week of October. If you feel you have what it takes, nominate yourself!
The New Membership T-shirts
This year we have beautiful new membership T-shirts which our members can now purchase. They are around £6 (tbc, price subject to change) and even associated members can purchase them. If you are interested, please contact us for more information!
