Apply to be Fresher's Representative!

So, the time has come to elect our new Fresher's Representative!

This role has so many benefits such as improving your confidence, communication skills,organisation and planning, secretarial skills and so much more! 
Do you think you have what it takes to be the History Society's Fresher's Rep? Then apply!

Our past Fresher's Representatives have been Joe Swyny, who was Social Secretary last year and is now the current President of the History Society. 

Last years Fresher's Representative was Carlie Andrews who is now the current communications officer of the History Society.


As you can see, this role leads to different roles within the History Society committee!

How do I apply?
All you need to do is email: history@swansea-union.ac.uk addressed to Carlie, along with a 200 word description of your self and how you would be a good for this role and what you would bring to the society. You can also add a small picture of yourself so people can see who you are!

After the closing date, we will then post all applicants entries to the facebook and blog page for all the members to see so they can choose who they would like to elect!

Requirements:
- You must go to Swansea University
- You must be a paid member of the History Society

- You must be a first year student

What happens at the election?
The election will take place upstairs at Peppermint Swansea where you will give a short 2 minute speech on how you would make a good Fresher's Representative for the members to hear and then decide! Date and time for the election is to be confirmed!

Once all the candidates have spoken, we will then commence the election. This is where the members choose who their Fresher's Rep. If you want to bring friends or housemates for support you are welcome to, however, if you want them to vote, they must be members of the History Society! They will also get their Mint Clubcard. (£3 for the whole year!)

We will then announce the chosen candidate.

What is happening after the election?
We are going to be holding our massive social - THE BEER OLYMPICS (this will not all be beer related), with lots of different events versing against other societies! This will also be taking place in Peppermint. 

Date of the Election and Beer olypmics is to be confirmed,so make sure you check back to the blog to keep up to date!
